Shocking Fashion

>> Saturday, July 30, 2011

Any fashion fan knows it’s one industry where people love to shock, and the upcoming season will certainly do that. One of the biggest looks to grace the runways was reptile-print jackets, sure to split fashionistas right down the middle.

ChloƩ showed models in a daytime version of the trend, pairing a brown reptile-print jacket with voluminous trousers and equally roomy bags. Fendi went for a slightly edgier take on the look, colouring their fabric a bright turquoise and giving it a fur trim. Gucci showed yellow versions while Marc Jacobs have skin-tight black jackets with massive fur sleeves.

The issue of animal hides in clothing is always going to be a contentious one, but there’s actually no need to opt for the real thing. This look is set to be so big that come Autumn/Winter there will be no shortage of fake versions on the high street.

It’s not a trend for everyone, and it’s vital to get the rest of your outfit right. Go too overboard and you run the risk of looking too showy, while too understated and the look really won’t work. This isn’t a piece which can be paired with boyfriend jeans and slouchy boots, you have to make a bit of effort.

Try wearing one with a pair of tight jeans or leggings tucked into high-heeled boots, with a slouchy hat topping off the look. For an evening out a coloured variety would certainly make you stand out from the crowd – team with a simple black dress for a stunning yet edgy look./Cover Media – Fri, Jul 29, 2011/Yahoo

>> Wednesday, July 27, 2011

The phenomenal ‘Buriring’ is a yearly storm that strikes Cadiz City, Philippines.

Buriring is a seasonal fish that is available at the market only in the last week of July to August. Its being seasonal makes it popular in Western Visayas. And Cadiz is the only place in the country that produces quality ‘Buriring’.

Those who love and have the passion on ‘Buriring’ usually invade Cadiz to catch some kilos.

To Cadiz community, ‘Buriring” has been first class seafood that costs P80 to P120 per kilo. Sometime, it reaches up to P200 to P300.

Though that expensive, but when it drops the market, it sells like hot cake.

The local rich and famous, including the mayor and other big-time politicians, have always ‘Buriring’ in their fine dining table.

It’s uniquely yummy, and deliciously nutritious.

Try and get stuck with it.
